3 Bedroom, Self-contained 1920's Bungalow In The Heart Of The Adelaide Hills

3 1
Welcome to The Cudlee Cottage a self-contained 1920's bungalow idyllically located in the beautiful and tranquil Northern Adelaide Hills. Less than an hour from the Adelaide CBD and nestled within its own botanical garden, this leafy 1.78 hectare private property is found in the quaint little hamlet of Cudlee Creek.

Perfect for a couples escape from the hustle and bustle or for a small group looking to enjoy all the great trappings the Hills have to offer; The Cudlee Cottage was sympathetically renovated in October 2019. Retaining traditional features including tall ceilings, polished timber floors and with a distinctly vintage feel. The cottage is well appointed with a large country style eat in kitchen, separate lounge and a central hallway that takes you through to two double bedrooms. The lovely sunroom is also a 3rd single bed bedroom. There is an updated bathroom, separate toilet and large laundry. Wi-Fi, combustion log fire and split system AC. All wrapped in traditional full perimeter verandahs that provide the perfect spot to relax... that’s if you don’t want to picnic in or stroll around your private and tranquil gardens that lead to the banks of the River Torrens and the cottage’s name sake, Cudlee creek! In the garden a variety of rare and unusual trees will impress the avid gardener too, such as the Chilean Soap tree, two bottle trees, the Wollemi Pine and a variety of fruit and nut trees. You may even spot a Koala or Kangaroo! Ample parking for up to 3 standard cars is also available onsite.

In the heart of the spectacular Adelaide Hills wine region, The Cudlee Cottage is perfectly located for a quick escape from the city or as a base for those wanting to linger longer and explore the scenic Northern Adelaide Hills and wider Barossa Valley region.

It is only a short stroll (over your own cobble-stone creek) to the well-known Cudlee Café where you’ll find piping hot coffee, homemade baked goods, organic seasonal fruit & veg, condiments and a wonderful selection of meal options – as a guest you will receive 15% off meal purchases!

For the animal lover, the cottage is less than a 5min drive to the Gorge Wildlife Park and if you’ve packed your mountain bike or hiking boots, you’re within minutes of Fox Creek Mountain Bike Park and the Heysen Trail.
The township of Gumeracha, famous for its medieval fair, the Big Rocking Horse and home to Applewood Distillery (Gin) and Unico Zelo Wines is less than a 10min drive from your door with Birdwood and its famous Motor Museum only a few kilometres further. Oh, and then there is the Kenton Valley Golf Course again only 10mins from your door.

Lobethal, with its spectacular Christmas light display (Dec only), is less then 20mins drive and is where you will find a local supermarket, pharmacy and the very popular Lobethal Bierhaus and Hunted Home and Vintage! It also connects you to the Onkaparinga Valley Road, gateway to the beautiful townships of Woodside, Oakbank, Balhannah, Verdun, Stirling and Hahndorf many of which hold wine festivals, weekend markets and other free community events throughout the year. There are also a good number of little antique stores, maker studios and local produce stores to visit. For those feeling a little more energetic there is also the Amy Gillett Bikeway that winds its way between Mt Torrens and Oakbank.

Finally, for the wine lover, not only do you have Adelaide Hills institutions like Shaw & Smith, Bird in Hand, The Lane and Howards Vineyard just to name a few, the world-famous Barossa Valley is also only 50mins north of Cudlee Creek. This means that even after a lazy start to the day you have plenty of time to reach your favourite winery for a late lunch or cellar door visit! This is just a taste of what you can experience while staying at The Cudlee Cottage – we’re also not far from may hills wedding and function venues like Paracombe Premium Perry, Glen Ewin Estate and Nether Hill Farm.
